History:
Ranta was born and raised on a Turian colony far from Palaven, one infamous for rebel militias and ultimately futile uprisings dating back to before the unification war. During her mandatory military service, she served mainly in colonies like her own as both a peace keeper and a government arm to keep an eye on potential rebellious sentiments. While it was not her focus, Ranta took a knack for caring for the misfortunate, and easily fell into a job at a dextro-amino shelter on the Citadel once her service years were over.

The Citadel was her first exposure to alien life, and her social awkward curiosity landed her in a fair amount of trouble. However, it was the very same that acquainted her with a human C-sec officer named Anita Kennedy, who she began a relationship with shortly after Sovereign's attack. She currently lives with the human on the station.
